Dried Apricots

Dried apricots are one of the most consumed foods. However, dried apricots are obtained by different methods. The most production of dried apricots in the world is made in Malatya,Turkey and many methods have been used to dry apricots in this city. Dried apricots are naturally dried as well as dried by burning a sulfide-containing compound. This dried apricot containing various amounts of sulphide has a yellow color and is more attractive. The purpose of the sulphideisation of apricot is to prolong the shelf life, to prevent moths and to maintain its beautiful appearance. Sulfitated dried apricots rarely cause problems in some people. If highly sulphidized, this is harmful to everyone and can be understood from the taste of excessively sulphidated apricot.

The most natural dried apricot type is the day dry. The apricot left to dry in yellow becomes dark brown-black with the effect of the sun. But it needs to be carefully stored because it is very easy to get rid of. What you need to do while storing dried apricots and other dried fruits is to mix and dry the dried fruits with sage (thyme and rosemary) and, if possible, to store this bag in the refrigerator. Molds may occur in extremely humid places. If dried apricots are hardened, it is useful to keep them in water for a while.
